A delicate love story about two young artists for whom the first adult relationship becomes a mirror reflecting old wounds and formative experiences. Maria and Patryk create the core of the latest film from Łukasz Ronduda (Performer, 15th NH; A Heart of Love, 17th NH). Maria comes from a comfortable Warsaw family, while Patryk is barely scraping by while trying to support himself through art school. They share ambition, talent, and sensitivity, but are divided by class and origin. Tell Me What You Feel is an empathetic portrait of Generation Z’s fears, above all the fear of intimacy, and its gifts, including the courage to speak openly about emotion. Inspired by the lives and work of painters Patryk Różycki and Karolina Balcer, as well as Alicja Rogalska and Łukasz Surowiec’s artistic project Skup Łez [We Buy Tears], Ronduda’s film turns toward a new, “sensitive” masculinity, one open to emotions, vulnerability, and tears. It also restores value to the therapeutic power of art and relationships, caught between contradictory desires for excess and safety. Tell Me What You Feel premiered in the Big Screen Competition at Rotterdam. The film stars promising young actors Jan Sałasiński, Izabella Dudziak, and Sebastian Dela.
