Cinema Without Barriers Festival is a new event on the map of Poznan. It consists of two parts:
The Accessible Film Review that will be held from February 26 to March 1. The audience will be able to watch more than a dozen films with audiodescription, subtitles for the deaf and translation into Polish sign language. There will also be meetings with filmmakers, as well as panel discussions on the topics taken up in the films.
The festival will also include a Forum without Barriers on February 25-27, the second edition of the first event in Poland dedicated to cinema accessibility, aimed at film and festival experts. The forum will include panels, workshops and presentations of good practices, emphasizing the importance of promoting accessible solutions in production, distribution, event programming and ways of experiencing films.
The project is being implemented as part of the Cinema Without Barriers initiative, awarded in 2023 by the Association of Arthouse Cinemas and in 2024 by the Polish Film Institute.
